Keep the Mitten Clean Meet Up and Clean Up

We’re excited to announce a collaborative event between Happy People Hike, and We Play at Riverside Park! Celebrate the first day of fall with us as we meet some new friends, have some fun, and clean up the neighborhood!
This event will combine outdoor fun, community engagement, and environmental stewardship.
Event Details:
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Soccer Pick Up
We Play, a grassroots soccer community, is organizing a friendly soccer pick-up game to kick off the day! This community is all about uniting people through creative and free-spirited play. The game is designed for all skill levels, and we’ll adjust the number of players based on turnout.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Park Clean Up
Following the soccer games, we’ll be cleaning up the park! This is part of the Keep the Mitten Clean trash clean up series sponsored by Corona – focused on maintaining the beauty of our local environment. Participants can pick up clean-up kits and choose to work in Riverside Park or surrounding neighborhoods.
The clean-up will be open house style, meaning you can join in anytime between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. We’ll have swag, prizes, water and snacks!
This will be the final 2024 event in our trash clean up series! We spent a lot of time on the beaches this year but are excited to end the season with our pals in Grand Rapids.
Huge shout out to Corona for supporting our clean ups and supplying all the great swag we have coming your way. Your clean up kits will include some awesome thank you gifts as well as clean up supplies. And everyone who stops by will be entered to win some great prizes. . .like a Snoop! Our clean ups are family friendly and we have plenty of kid friendly swag too
